Darkuman Government Workers' Children STEM Scholarship

The Darkuman Government Workers' Children STEM Scholarship is aimed at easing the financial burden of college tuition for children of government workers in the Darkuman area of Accra. This scholarship is exclusively available to children of public sector employees who are enrolled in accredited colleges to study a STEM discipline. One of the unique features of this program is its direct-to-institution payment model. Rather than providing funds directly to the students or families, the scholarship pays the tuition fees straight to the university in the student’s name, covering approved academic costs without cash disbursement to individuals.

Program Highlights:

  • Eligibility: Only the parent (government worker) is eligible to apply for their children attending college.
  • Parents must be a government employee stationed in the area of Darkuman in Accra (where your job is based).
  • Government workers with upper managerial roles earning over GHC12,000 per month are excluded from the scholarship.
  • Only students studying at these universities in GH can be considered: KNUST, UG, UCC, UEW, KTU, PUC
  • Parents must be a GH citizen as well as the beneficiary child.
  • Field of Study Requirement: Only students pursuing STEM-related degrees at a recognized college in the list above are eligible.
  • Direct Payment Model: Tuition fees are paid directly to the educational institution not to the student or family.
  • Support for Public Servants’ Families: Recognizes and supports the service of government employees by investing in their children’s future.
