The STEM Programs for Teenagers initiative by the Simpey Foundation is a targeted effort to support organizations that offer out-of-school STEM education to teenagers living in low-income and high-crime areas across the United States. These are often the youth most at risk of being overlooked by traditional educational systems and most in need of opportunity, structure, and inspiration. Simpey Foundation funds and partners with trusted nonprofits and community organizations that specialize in after-school and weekend STEM programming. These programs include activities such as coding workshops, robotics clubs, hands-on science labs, AI and data science bootcamps, and mentorship from professionals in STEM fields. The initiative provides youth with not only valuable technical skills but also a safe environment, supportive role models, and a clear path away from cycles of crime and poverty.
Target Group: Teenagers from low-income families and neighborhoods with high crime rates.
Program Type: Hackathons, Out-of-school learning after-school, weekends, or school holidays.
STEM Skills: Coding, robotics, engineering, AI, design thinking, and more.
Local Partnerships: Funding community organizations that already work with at-risk youth.
Positive Alternatives: Helping teens build a future rooted in opportunity, not violence.xd
